Eventing in Lace Von Furstenberg

Summer is officially upon us here in Boston, and so, events abound.  Tonight, I'm hitting up a party on Newbury before I head off to a fashion show on The Hill.... thusly, this morning consists of outfit planning and preparation.  I decided to rock my black and white Diane Von Furstenberg dress. I love it because it looks like a cocktail dress, fits like it was made for me, and feels like a t-shirt (the fabric beneath the lace overlay is the softest cotton). Always the accessory minimalist, especially for Thursday night lower-key shindigs, I'm keeping it very simple: French stilettos, diamond studs, and my iPhone is wearing it's  Gucci cover.  For now though, I must be off.... gym, downtown for lunch, nails, hair....  If anyone is wearing anything lovely tonight I shall Instagram as needed. By far the greatest Gatsby

1920s chic gets a slick, modern makeover at the Great Gatsby kick off event in Tokyo. I love the unexpected combination of flapper style with prints and textures reminiscent of 1980s glam rock bands. Top that off with sparkling retro head jewels = L. O. V. E.

Moody Blues

I'm so happy I got my coat from MUUSE in time for this evening's forecast. A silk, one-shoulder dress from Pinkyotto and cobalt colored Brahmin bag complete my misty, monochrome ensemble. It is going to be a rainy night for a dinner party in the Back Bay..... but at least I can bring some sunshine with me in these moody blues.... also Moscato de Asti  

Nowness

I heart my new Sam Edelman shoes. They have everything I am looking for in party footwear for Spring/Summer 2013: Mod, two-tone, white & beige leather, rocker-style crystal embellishment, and a clear, acrylic stacked heel. I styled them with my matching bone clutch, by Coach, and a nude dress with purple lace overlay, for the Boston Fashion Awards VIP party.

I can never get enough Cavalli. This stunning suit in summery silk features this year's signature baroque theme and the 2013 Pantone Color of the Year: rich emerald.... Je veux!!!!
