I. Love. This. Image. from the MAC Indulge ad. The way the model is styled, the gold turban, blue sequins, and the sweets on the table, all speak to exactly what I am looking for in my 2013 fashion profile. The issue? Ironically, the make-up -- which is totally unwearable. There are so many cool, retro, Edie Sedgwick-y ways MAC could have used to better showcase their color palette.... I get that it's editorial.... maybe they are only marketing to far out make-up artists with that unflattering yellow eye shadow..... The rest, however, totally speaks to me.

Head Games

Hair jewelry! I insist this runway trend be here to stay and I take personal responsibility to rock it in a wearable way. These gems are a staple in the definition of how to be postmodern royalty-- every queen or princess needs a crown after all. I love the east meets west vibe too, because fashion 2013 is all about a global sense of style.
The keys to unlocking the way to make this look work are dark, black eyeliner and even more attitude. For inspiration think Nicole Richie, Aishwarya Rai, Marie Antoinette and 20s flappers.....

Chanel Spring 2013 = so postmodern royal
Chanel's 2013 Spring line is exactly what I would have dreamed it would be. Tasha Frankin is the perfect haute Flower Child in this shoot for Abbie Heath for L'officiel Singapore showcasing the new fashions for the upcoming season. I absolutely heart the retro glam make-up and hair baubles as well as her "shoes" in the right hand frame.
